International Literacy Day 2024-2025

This year, MTML celebrated International Literacy Day on Sep 20th,2024 where we had 77 learners along with their instructors to share the successes of their learning journey. Learners' Conference 2023-2025

After 5 years this, event was organized in person at the Centre for Social Innovation Building on May 31,2024 from 9:00am-3:00 pm. Thanks to our sponsor, Toronto Workforce Innovation Group for the venue. Thanks to TDSB and anonymous donors who made this event possible. We are gratified to all the volunteers, practitioners and programs that supported our event.

6 learners also received  the Learners' Achievement Award as their success story was nominated out of 17 submissions.

Connecting to Learn Event 2023-2024:

MTML organized this event to bring together literacy programs and key community organizations in Toronto and York region who served underrepresented groups to identify support services, training needs and opportunities for future collaboration and partnerships.

They spoke to Amina Charles (literacy learner and advocate, and small business owner) about her journey and the big changes in her life.
