Alexandra Park Neighbourhood Learning Centre (APNLC)
Alexandra Park Neighbourhood Learning Centre (APNLC) is an adult learning centre located in downtown Toronto. APNLC offers a variety of free learning programs including Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) and Academic Upgrading (AU) classes, as well as one-to-one tutoring delivered with the support of volunteer literacy tutors.
These programs offer adult learners the opportunity to upgrade their skills and knowledge to prepare for college programs, apprenticeships and employment. We also support adult learners to become more engaged with their communities and to develop important skills for everyday life.

PROGRAM TYPE: Community Based
REGISTRATION PROCESS: Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be sent an online assessment to complete which helps us understand your learning goals and decide which learning opportunity is the best fit for you. When you complete the online assessment, a staff person from APNLC will give you a call to talk about next steps.
INTAKE: The programs are ongoing.
ELIGIBILITY: Adults 19+. A social insurance number (SIN) is asked for as part of the registration form and in order to be eligible for training supports (e.g. transit tokens or possibly digital devices). However, if someone does not have a SIN, they are still able to participate in the program, but are not eligible for training supports.
ACCESS: Class and one-to-one tutoring are being done virtually.
