Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre: Literacy and Basic Skills

Our self directed, self managed LBS Program helps adults develop and apply communication, numeracy and digital skills which will enable them to actualize their career and life goals. Classes are personalized and delivered within an Indigenous cultural context that provides learners with a sense of community and support beyond their academic pursuits. As well as regular classroom activities, our learners have the opportunity to regularly engage in a variety of community cultural activities which include everything from regular visits to museums, galleries, theatre and cinemas, to traditional Pow-wows and other culturally relevant events.
